Insta Story is the New Wave don’t get left behind. As a brand how often do you make use of your Insta Story? Never thought I would say this but Instagram Stories are now more popular than Snapchat, with over 200 million people using the feature EVERY DAY!
Insta Story is a great way of engaging your audience in a more personal way by replying to your stories via DM. They also get to see alot of BTS they might not see on your curated feeds.
Are you ready to add some FUN to your IG Stories? To catch your audience’s attention ?
Be Consistent
This is very important. People would get used to always seeing your stories and with time its important you get creative, always add a purpose to your story. It could be that you want people to always watch your stories for Quotes or Just BTS about what you get up to. The truth is people always get bored and are interested in finding something to watch or interact with so why can’t your story be a part of it?
Have fun with all the text options
Play around with the various text fonts, feel free to mix and match. It makes it creative & less boring.
Add GiFs
This has to be one of the coolest features instagram has added to the Story. It gives life to your story especially when you find the right giphy to match the context of your Story
Add FiLTERs
You would be surprised how cool a filter can make your video/picture look. I can not pin it to a particular filter because different filters appeal better to different pictures but I can definitely say ‘Vintage filters’ are pretty hot right now. I make use of VSCO to add filters, I used M5 filter on the example below.
Record your Screen
One of the features I love most about my iPhone is the screen recording. I literally record my screen to get the most creative ideas to life either on my story or to add to a video edit (and when people ask me how i edit a video its never a straight forward answer). There are different ways to use this, you can either ‘Type on an image whilst recording the screen”or “Record your screen while swiping through the various filters”
Type on an image whilst recording the screen
(For android users Google ‘screen recording apps’ )
If you have an iPhone Go to Settings – Control Center – Customize controls – Add ‘Screen recording’ and you’re good to go. Now you’re good to go
- First, select the photo you want to write on
- You can do a short practice of the idea you have in mind, remember Insta Stories can’t be longer than 15 seconds.
- Now, you can erase and start over.
- Next, Tap on your screen recording button
- Then start typing in whatever font/color you desire.
- Done recording? Swipe up and click the screen recording button to stop
If you have unnecessary clips showing in your Insta Story video-All you have to do is Open the video in your camera roll and hit the “Edit” button. Trim your video to erase the end part. Press done and save.
You’re ready to share in your Insta Story!
Explore all your options
A lot of people are quick to run to Apps it they haven’t taken time to explore the options available for free. If you can’t do this here trust me if with a ton of Apps you might not be as creative as you thought. So explore the “Stop Motion” “Boomerang” and other Features first.
Make use of Apps
This is my last option because most times people think you have to use an outside app to make your stories pop but with the constant updates on Instagram that might not be totally necessary especially if you have a lot on your plate and can’t constantly meet up with using external Apps but if you do here are a few Apps I use:
Turn your still designs into animations using Adobe Spark Post
This was one of the first Apps I ever came across & a lot of the Top Brands I follow on IG make use of it from WhoWhatWear to GlamourUk. A few people may be familiar with this app because it is PRETTY COOL It is quite easy to use for any business owner on the go. make sure to select Instagram Story under the Resize option. So it fits in perfectly.
Once you’ve resized, tap Effects and add the effect either to your text or the background image (if any).
Here’s an example video I made below:
Add a vintage feel to your videos with Rad VHS Cam
Simply because Vintage seems to be really cool, I was obsessed with this App when I first found it. Honestly I still am but I have exhausted my free trial and with the other Apps I pay for I’m not ready to pay for this except I extremely need it.
Make your Stories Vertical with InShot
By now everyone knows this App if you don’t it’s the go to App for making your videos vertical & adding a nice background to your pictures/videos before posting to your stories but with the birth of the UNFOLD App ….
(Side note: You can add voice overs using InShot)
Easy Peasy UNFOLD does it
This is a life saver really so easy to use and very aesthetically appealing. Trust me you’d love it and I’ve paid for all 3 Layouts, I’m patiently waiting for a new one. Downloading the App is FREE but Each Layout Costs (350 NGN). A few Samples below 👇🏽
That’s all the Apps I’ll be sharing with you today.
Quick Question: Would you pay for an E-Book on all the Apps I use, Cost & guidelines on how I use it? Please let me know by leaving a comment below (Don’t worry it won’t cost much )

Till next time

I initially disregarded my instastory because I didn’t get what the hype was about, but now I’m gradually understanding how important it is, plus this post has made it seem like less work.
Thanks for sharing Nonye!

I’ve always known how important instastories are but with android phones…the struggle is real. Thank you so much for sharing though and can’t wait to try out those new apps!

Android phone shouldn’t stop you tho, I believe there’s a way around it. You can always share quotes or pictures and when you want to share videos always use unfold you’d see it’s not as bad as you think.

I am Habiba, my IG handle is royalbiba. I always love checking your IG feed and stories. They are always so amazing, I use an android phone and I always use different apps. I use most of the apps you recommend but the issue I have with inshot is it make my video slimmer and is makes it look kinda awkward. But I really appreciate this post all I need is to be more consistent. I’ll really love to learn more things from you.

I can’t say much about that because I haven’t used InShot on an android but you can search for other Video Apps compatible for Android phones. Thank you so much for the compliment.
