Never in a million years did I see myself falling into this trend, I recall an interview I had last year with Spice TV Africa and she asked me “what fashion trend would I never be caught dead wearing” and guess what trend it was “The cycling/biker shorts trend” Fast forward a year later.
To be quite honest I never went out of my way to buy it. This styling was as a result of necessity & the urge to constantly revamp the pieces in my closet which included the pair of jeans that was way to tight for comfort. I wasn’t going to waste my coins so took out a pair of scissors *snip snip cut my jeans into biker shorts and here I am a few weeks later sharing ‘Two ways to Style the bike shorts trend” cause I got way more compliments than expected pulling of this trend twice.
- Wear shorts with a Slightly oversized Shirt
Style Guide: To make the bike shorts trend an easy ‘I woke up like this’ look work for you? Go for an head to toe black ensemble, let the shirt be moderately or full blown over-sized (makes it even better). Keep the shirt slightly untucked on one side for an effortless finish. You can top off the look with an accessory I went for a classic black sunglasses, a black hat or waist bag would have a similar flattering effect but tell different stories.
Velvet Top: Thrifted
Jeans: Thrifted and Ripped by Me
Shoes: Nigerian brand @ycglabel
Sneakers: Limited edition @Nike

Bob Wig: @t.e.t__
2. Wear the Shorts With a Fitted Blazer
Style Guide: Right about now you can already tell a blazer is a cool girl’s quick fix and a must-have for every closet. A pair of limited edition Nike trainers completes the look
You can go ahead to crop your jeans and pair with a bomber jacket for the extra sporty look, or a pastel color top for a double trend explosion.
That’s all the FASHION for today
